Hooded Merganser & Ducklings

Craig Johnson has produced a map of great places to view birds on Whidbey Island. Earth Sanctuary is marked “*” as one of the top areas to view birds!

Craig and his wife Joy have written several great books on Birding.  You can view and purchase them at their website.

You can also view a great slide show that Craig produced of a Rufous Hummingbird nesting, from eggs to fledglings!

Woman meditating on the prayer stone

Woman meditating on the prayer stone by the labyrinth.

While enjoying a wonderful sunny drive on the Island, my friend and I came across the “Earth Sanctuary”. We instantly fell in love with this wonderful and peaceful place. Spending several hours there, we were able to embrace it’s beauty, enjoy nature’s animals, and experience the great sense of spirituality that this place emanates;bringing us for a while, a little bit closer to our Creator.  I truly respect and admire your work here. Thank you for allowing us to visit this beautiful place. -cc-
