We have three beaver lodges at Earth Sanctuary. There is a weir and culvert between the Middle and West Ponds. When the beavers hear running water, they immediately build a dam to stop the water. In this video, you can see Chuck Pettis using a pitchfork to unclog the dam. At night the beavers come back and fill it in again. And on it goes!
The Evening Magazine TV show visited Earth Sanctuary about 10 years ago, and they keep running the segment! If you watch this short video and then visit Earth Sanctuary, you will see how well the plantings have done and how the plants have matured. And all the pink flags are gone!
