How to Create an Old-Growth Forest
Saturday, June 10th, 2006
Do you have some land that you would like to honor and return to the maximum diversity of an old-growth forest? Do you want to do something yourself that is exemplary from an ecological standpoint?
When I purchased the Earth Sanctuary land in 2000, I wanted to do something special and to “design with nature.” Problem: there are few practical materials that are helpful to someone who would like to develop with minimum impact and to design with nature.
If you are intested in doing something really special and very rewarding with your land, then here are a few resources to help you out:
1) A Presentation on how to create an old-growth forest (3 meg PDF file)
2) Earth Sanctuary’s Holistic Vision
3) Earth Sanctuary’s 500-year plan
