Sacred Spaces of Earth Sanctuary

Take a Sacred Space Tour with Founder Chuck Pettis (video tours)

As a meditation parkland, Earth Sanctuary features a number of megalithic monuments and sacred spaces designed for meditation and prayer. These sites bring together ancient art forms, a profound connection with nature, and diverse global spiritual traditions. Among the structures are two Stone Circles, a Dolmen (the first built in the U.S. during modern times), a Labyrinth, and a Native American Medicine Wheel.

Tibet-Tech Prayer Wheels - The Most Powerful Prayer Wheels Ever Created

Prayer Wheel

Earth Sanctuary has installed two Tibetan prayer wheels that each contain 1.3 trillion prayers, more prayers than any other prayer wheel ever created. The prayer wheels are located near the Dolmen and the Cottonwood Stone Circle.

Ley lines
Each of Earth Sanctuary's sacred spaces has been carefully sited on the land and landscaped. An important element in determining their locations - besides aesthetic and ecological concerns - was ley lines. Ley lines are lines of electromagnetic energy, meridians of earth chi, that result from the connection between plant Earth and the cosmos. They can indicate auspicious locations and are present at many ancient sacred site locations around the world.

Feng Shui
The art of Feng Shui, the ancient art of placement that insures harmony and balance with nature, has also been used in the development of Earth Sanctuary. Feng Shui expert David Rousseau was consulted during the design process. His understanding of natural energies has helped to determine the location of paths and development plan.

Crystals
Another way that the sacred spaces are aligned with the energies and healing powers of the natural world is through the use of crystals. Crystals have been buried in the vicinity of each of the sacred sites at Earth Sanctuary in order to enhance meditation and prayer. Crystal specialist Collen Marquist selected hundreds of pounds of minerals and crystals (e.g., black tourmaline, Herkimer diamonds, marble, Arkansas clear quartz, and rose quartz) in order to match types of crystals with the nature of specific sacred sites.
